for the world’s largest Ferris Wheel in an enclosed architectural space in 2012, our Giant Wheel is 50 meters in height and 60 meters in diameter. It is part of the Alem Cultural and Entertainment Center in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The record-breaking Ferris wheel, which is called Alem (The Universe), has got 24 six-seater cabins and it was constructed in a glass and white-steel enclosure that resembles the 8-sided star of Oguz Khan, who appears in many motifs across the nation. The view from the ride is beyond words and worthy of making the trip.
The center housing the Ferris wheel also includes a bowling alley, cinema screens, a restaurant, and a planetarium, spread over 6 floors (of which 4 are above ground) for a total height of over 95 meters.
Built by the Turkmenistan government, the center was officially inaugurated in May 2012, on Turkmenistan’s Day of Revival, Unity, and Magtymguly Poetry. The event was attended also by the President of Turkmenistan.
A Giant Wheel, when installed in a city’s key location, can be the tourist attraction par excellence. This not only for its structural beauty but also for the great panoramic view it offers thanks to its height. In Europe and worldwide, there are already several successful examples that can prove how much giant wheels are appreciated.
Our 50-meter wheels are equipped with up to 36 enclosed or open classical cabins that can sit 6 adults each.
Apart from all the technical features, they look impressive and will add value to any high-end mixed-use or leisure type development.
